When I discovered yoga over 15 years ago, I never imagined it would shape my life so profoundly or lead my way to teaching. Yet, then as now, it is yoga’s ability to inspire, challenge and reveal both the self and the world that keeps me curious about the practice. Yoga brings me to places and people. It is today an integral part of my daily life.
I have primarily trained at the East London School of Yoga on a scholarship, encouraged by my teacher, Stewart Gilchrist, to share the practice through teaching.
My background as an actor and a philosophy student, have brought me to be interested in working with my own body, with movement and my voice. To work and exist in today’s faced realtiy where I can extend and perhaps slow down the experience of time and connect with people directly. I also have a background and love for music and am interested in how music can shape our experiences.
I am exploring the way we live and interact with ourselves and others in the world and how to live good, happier and healthier lives.
MY YOGA CLASSES
I teach yoga and meditation at all levels and often shape the asanas (physical yoga postures) depending on the perceived experience-level in the room.
My siqnature vinyasa classes are dynamic, energizing and playfully challenging. I work with creative sequencing and economy of movement. Where possible, I enjoy including inversions and armbalances. After a dynamic flow, I calm the energy down with forward folds, stretching and backbends towards the second half of the class. To lastly, enjoy a longer shavasana.
An integral part of my teaching is to include some elements of meditation and philosophical reflections on how the practice can support us in our daily lives.
MY INTENTION
I combine clear guidance, a strong practice and a calming voice. I seek to create spaces where students can concentrate, challenge themselves, deepen their connection to their breath and their bodily and inwardly awareness. I believe in a practice that is both grounding and expansive, aligning movement and mind with the wisdom of ones inner voice.
